Role Overview

As the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Polygon Guernsey properties. You’ll manage maintenance, grounds, equipment, vendor relationships, and more, ensuring that each property is well-maintained and safe for our tenants.

Your ability to manage multiple properties will be key to your success in this role. You will work as part of the Channel Islands team and liaise with the Channel Island Property Manager to ensure a smooth operational experience across all sites.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the operations of multiple properties, ensuring all facilities are properly maintained and meet health and safety standards.
  • Coordinate and manage all building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships for ongoing services (e.g. cleaning, security, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and legal requirements for each property.
  • Monitor and manage facility budgets, including approving invoices and liaising with finance.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend the life of building systems.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to ensure the alignment of facilities management with organisational goals.
  • Work with Channel Island facilities staff, promoting a culture of high performance and trust.
  • Travel between properties as required to manage day-to-day operations and attend site meetings.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in facility management. 
  • In-depth knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle priorities across different locations.
  • Experience with external contracts and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing and resolving facility-related challenges.
  • Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and implement efficiency measures across sites.
  • A client-focused mindset with the ability to provide high-quality service to stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to travel between locations and manage site-specific needs.
